THE ELLE BRAND CELEBRATES EARTH DAY WITH A “GREEN” ISSUE IN MORE THAN 30 COUNTRIES

World’s Leading Fashion Media brand, ELLE Brand celebrates the 50th Earth Day on April 22, 2020 and invites its readers to think about our future and our planet.

More than 30 editions of ELLE & ELLE Decoration around the world have published or will publish in the next few days a Special Green issue to celebrate the 50th Earth Day anniversary, in collaboration with Earth Day Network. Linked with this anniversary, the current worldwide situation reminds us the urgency of collectively changing our consumption patterns, and of taking the necessary measures to preserve our planet for future generations.

Many editions of ELLE have already released their Special Green April issue: Australia, Canada, China, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italia, Korea, Mexico, Middle East, Quebec, Serbia, Spain, Taiwan, Ukraine, USA, Vietnam.
Others are imminent (May issues): Belgium, Czech Republic, Hong-Kong, Ivory Coast, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Russia.
As well as ELLE Decoration for April issue: Belgium, China, India, Italy, Spain, Sweden and USA.

In these issues, readers will find poignant subjects, enquiries and in-depth surveys on current social movements. Journalists from the editions around the world have also been meeting with “young” upcoming figures of eco-activism, «The Generation Green».
Interviews of eco-committed celebrities such as Matt Damon or Shailene Woodley will show their involvement through their different associations and actions, to protect the environment and improve our consumer habits.

True to its format and position as women’s fashion and lifestyle magazine, these green issues will also feature regular magazine topics through environmental angles:

  • Fashion stories showcasing eco-responsible brands, organic and recycled materials
  • Beauty pages focusing on eco-responsible and DIY products
  • Eco-tourism
  • Guides to help the consumer in awakening daily awareness and for a better consumption
  • Responsible materials, design projects and architecture

Some editions will relay the events and actions organized digitally for this anniversary by Earth Day Network (earthdaynetwork.org) on social media; along with these hashtags #EarthDay #StandforEarth #WomenForEarth #ELLEGreenIssue.

“This worlwide operation is true to ELLE’s promise of the last 75 years to its values and to its DNA : supporting women in the changes of our societies. Today more than ever, thanks to the strength of our network, our duty is to support this ecological and climatic emergency with both goodwill and conviction.”

Constance Benqué, CEO, ELLE International.
