What better way to celebrate the best and the most successful in the fashion industry than the ELLE Style Awards?
This winter, several countries held their own annual award ceremonies starting off in the Netherlands, in September.
Amongst those countries was South Africa, who had particularly special news to announce at their 20th edition of the Style Awards…
It was indeed ELLE South Africa’s very own publisher and owner, Gisele Wertheim-Aynes, who was awarded the Style Icon of the Year award!
One of the judges on the panel, Priya Naidoo, General Manager for Group Communications at Tsogo Sun, has revealed that the winner was chosen not only for her outer style, but more importantly her inner style and her contributions to South Africa. Presented to her at the most credible style awards event in South Africa, Gisele commented that she felt very blessed to have received the award and that she believes the Style Awards should recognize those who assist and transform their own category, or industry.
Speaking of Style Award’s winners, let’s hear about Finland’s honorees from October!
After building her brand for 10 years, a notable mention goes to Minna Parikka, who won the award for Accessory of the Year: her Bunny Shoes (available at Selfridges and Harrods in London!)
In November, it was time for Serbia to hold their 4th ELLE Style Awards, in the Crystal Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency, Belgrade.
Around 200 distinguished guests arrived from the world of fashion and culture to honour the chosen winners for their careers ranging from cinematography to literature to modeling.
Last but not least there was of course, Poland. Here, Model Of The Year went to Julia Banaś. This young lady has had a triumphant 2016, appearing in the main campaign for Marc Jacobs, not to mention the Fendi Show.
She was also the heroine of the September cover of ELLE!
