ELLE CANADA Launched Shoppable Video

ELLE Canada, Canada’s fashion and beauty authority, launched an integrated Shoppable video program.

#Shopyourmood was a series of five videos featuring clothing, shoes and accessories available at partnered retailer Hudson’s Bay.

Each one-minute video was themed around a mood – happy, romantic, powerful, relaxed and rebellious – and featured top Canadian model Pamela Bernier debuting fall fashion trends. Consumers could click on-screen dots to gain access to price and brand information, and purchase the item directly from the Bay’s site.

 “ELLE Canada has always been the brand readers turn to for recommendations on what to buy – particularly when it comes to fall fashion trends. We simply took this expertise to the next level and showcased our favourite picks in an engaging video format that tied together our multi-platform brand, while making it fun and simple for readers to shop the looks”, says ELLE Canada Editor-In-Chief Noreen Flanagan.

There were three simple ways to access the #ShopYourMood videos:

  • On the website: www.ellecanada.com 
  • On the iPad edition
  • In the magazine: Download the free viewa app from iTunes or Google Play and then scan the page to watch the videos.

The five #ShopYourMood videos were part of an extensive branded content advertising and promotional campaign between ELLE Canada and Hudson’s Bay that included executions across multiple platforms, including Print, Tablet, Digital, Mobile and Social Media.

ELLE September issue featured the fall fashions from the videos, along with a label encouraging readers to download the free Viewa app from iTunes or Google Play, and then scan the page to watch the videos.

Elle’s online and tablet editions included the #ShopYourMood videos.

The videos were promoted via a contest featured in the September issue of ELLE Canada where one lucky reader won a $5,000 shopping spree at Hudson’s Bay. In addition, on the 6th of September, Hudson’s Bay hosted an in-store trend event in Calgary with ELLE Canada & ELLE Québec Fashion & Market Editor Anthony Mitropoulos. The videos were also promoted via social media, where readers were encouraged to share their looks and moods with #ShopYourMood.
